Wednesday 11/6/24

 Today, we completed a NewsELA assignment in class about ways to sustain shoes and solutions to the problem of the ever-growing amount shoes going into landfills. I learned that simple tasks such as donating shoes or just putting in a little more effort to keep your shoes clean, has a major impact on the environment when everyone participates. I liked the problem and solution text structure of the article because it organizes the information effectively and makes it easier to understand. I'm currently feeling excited to go to an Atlanta Hawks game later today.

Vocab Quiz & Finishing Story Map Presentations - Friday 9-6-2024

 Today, we took a 25 question vocab quiz on illuminate that was pretty easy. Afterwards, a few people finished up with the story map presentations. I took away from this that we have a diverse class that is representative of the diversity of Lakeside and how different life experiences and cultural backgrounds shape our identity. I liked that I got to see a bit of other people's upbringing and life experiences and his compares or differs from mine. I'm feeling glad that the we are now entering the weekend, and that grades have been posted.

Presenting StoryMap Project Wednesday 9-4-2024

 Today, we presented our story map projects in class. I learned a lot about my classmates and personal details about them. The latter including their cultural background, as well as their hobbies and interests such as sports and extracurriculars. This lesson/project made me think back in my past and understand and realize key points in my life that developed my character, which is what I appreciate about this project. I'm feeling relieved that I was able to finish off my presentation.

Monday 2/10/25 - What life skills have you learned in high school that will help you live independently after high school? Which skills do you think are essential for your success after high school?

Some life skills I have learned in high school that will help me live independently after high school are time management, managing money, self care, and communication skills. After high school these skills will help me by keeping a healthy and balanced life. I think that all of these skills will be essentially after high school. Time management is important for all aspects of life and throughout our days, from the moment we get out of bed until we go back to sleep. Managing money is a new skill I picked up on during high school that I will need throughout my life, since it becomes more and more important to be responsible with money, as time goes on, eventually end up having to pay off expenses and allocate funds. Self care is another important life skill I've picked up on more during high school, as part of my success is my health and happiness (health is wealth).
